The Sustainable City in Dubai commemorates World Autism Day by joining the ‘The Light Up Blue’ campaign. The 11 biodomes in The Sustainable City (TSC) will be flooded with blue light to raise awareness and foster understanding for those with autism.
The campaign is annually observed on April 2, World Autism Awareness Day, and landmarks worldwide turn blue to mark the occasion. Blue is a colour that symbolises a feeling of calm and acceptance in a world that can sometimes be challenging for those with autism.
The Sustainable City has always embedded wellness and inclusion in the city's design and operations by introducing the world’s largest autism centre, Sanad Village, situated in the heart of the city. The centre is collaborating with TSC for a series of events throughout April to support autism awareness on the occasion of World Autism Month.
